Ten Core Components of Intact Families

  1. Love
Love of the collective energy brought forth by the family unit

Love of the individual talents and differences of each member of the family

Love of the biological and genetic connectedness to each other
  1. Friendship/Companionship
The sense that - in the family – there is a distinct bond of friendship and loyalty

The sense that – when needed – that hug will always be there for you

The sense that – despite those who give up on you – your family members will believe in you
  1. Connection
“Our unique family unit was brought together for a reason”

“Our history is rich in integrity, work ethic, and successes”

“Our connectedness will remain in perpetuity”
  2. Communication
       Always open and free-flowing

       Never intimidating

Always free to teach, preach, and reach out to all in the family unit

Never castigating so as to destroy one’s sense of family
  1. Knowledge
of what it takes to keep the family functional and intact

of the ramifications and pitfalls when family covenants are broken

of negative influences and forces that are poisons to any family structure
  1. Protection
The feeling that whether in the presence of your family or not, you are safe

The feeling that you will do whatever you have to do to defend the family unit from harm

The feeling that emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually you are safe
  1. Responsibility
       “I am my brother’s keeper”

“I am responsible for upholding the values taught to me”

“I am my family and they are me … we are responsible for each other”
  1. Vision
A clear picture of where you are going ensures fewer bumps in the road

A logical plan to get you to your destination ensures a stable and productive journey

Without these, the family unit will flounder in the dark, for the absence of vision is blindness
  1. Commitment
Through the trials and tribulations we will remain strong

I pledge my obligation whether right or whether wrong

I am committed to my familyas sure as the day is long
  2.  Perseverance/Persistence
“I will not give up on knowing my family”

“I will not give up on helping my family”

“I will not give up on loving my family”
